"Like all Science, Psychology is knowledge; and like Science again, it is knowledge of a definite thing, the mind." —

        James Mark Baldwin

My mom used to be a helper in a family of prominent doctors. I somewhat grew up with them. They were genuine, loving, considerate, and God-fearing. They were honored and reputable. In their family, they have Pediatric and Obstetrics-Gynecology. All field professions were noble but only one caught my young heart, Psychology.

I ponder what does being a Psychology feels like? What does it contribute? Or what it actually do? Bunch of questions were ringing inside my curious mind. I was a kid back then when I told my mom I want to be a Psychologist, however, she thought this would change so she just laughed with my idea. Years passed, it actually changed. I thought I won't really go back with my young dream and focus with the new one but then I ponder, being able to understand mind and behavior of people is actually a delight in my heart and a thrill I want to live by. I want to lend an ear and provide a hand for those people who suffered and dealing with their traumas and hidden rage. I want to use my communication and listening skills to be able not just sympathize with them but as well as to empathize.

Dealing with traumatic events is already a hard challenge but not having someone by your side makes it even more agonizing. That is why I'll pursue Psychology to help people overcome their struggles and be professionally be there for them. It's a tough job yet a fulfilling one. I believe I can make a change with my dream course and use it to build a better place for everyone.
